I think Xenia’s arrival is a real line in the sand for both H & myself. We already talk about things that happened BX. I have structured my life, exercise, work and school around her. The mornings are a laugh. I struggle out of bed to prep for a run or bike ride. Before I take off, I pause for about a minute and stare at her in the crib. She is such an inspiration, I still can't believe she's ours (we are hers?).

Mind you, its not all been plain sailing. She has been getting Grumpy between 6pm and 9pm most of the nights over the last week or two. I’d like her to be the dwarf called Sleepy now!

Dig the happy one in this pic!

That smile keeps on comin'...

Xenia cracked it for 40 days over the weekend, and as is the Greek custom, paid a visit to the padre for a blessing. The Greek Orthodox religion/culture is full of the most beautiful images, even though the padres flock act like mangy hyenas some times.

Xenia grooved through the experience like a real trooper, sleeping through most of it. She seemed quite comfortable in Papa Stavros’s arms, and I thing God was smiling on him that day, because if Xenia had of grabbed his beared, he would have screamed to high heaven (pun intended).

I was the obligatory paparazzi, and even got a bit of a blessing myself along with Helen.

The smile factor is increasing every day, she sleeps, eats and shits, and its all good here.

Here’s the funniest thing I have ever seen. The Greek culture (so I am lead to believe) required that you smudge the child with white flour, so that “she grows old and grey”…. My mother in law did it,…kinda weird,.. ok.. bloody wierd... what will I tell Xenia when she grows up?

Look at her!! what have they done to my child!!??

Here’s the latest batch of pics. Yes she is growing every day and looking more and more like??? Helen or Me? You be the judge… no one has been able to put their finger on it. All I know is that she is an angel, and we are sleeping at night.
Helen has just taken to being a mum like a fish to water, I have to remind her occasionally, that Xenias the baby not me…

Some friends of ours are expecting twins,.. Imagine the mix of excitement and terror for them. It took me back to when Xenia was 12 weeks and I was trying to communicate with her thru the belly phone. This whole process has been magical, and as the male in the relationship, I struggle to see why every dad doesn’t yell from the top of his lungs when they become a father. Perhaps they do, its just us silly guys are too busy chasing skirt to hear.

Something totally melts inside me when she looks at me… what a girl!

Thanks for your wonderful comments and wishes.
